A collaborative study of the dynamics of temporal ecology in the Black Woods of Rannoch, Perthshire, created after fieldwork in the forest, with artist Scott Hunter. Scott’s video captures subtle light moving across the forest floor, whilst my sound design slowly rumbles and undulates, amplifying the vibrations of a fizzing bog. This mediation on time and space brings attention to the deep unheard sounds underground of the changing states between water and peat moss communities.
This work was part of group show Envelop at Tent Gallery, Edinburgh, 2019.
This work is part of my Bog Intimacies research project of which includes building empathy with peat bogs through an embodied fieldwork.
